If gardening and life have taught me anything, it's the mortal-lock wisdom of yin yang. This truth and the beauty of the taijitu are the inspiration for this dazzling mirror mosaic sun catcher.
Yin it is sparkling in moonlight. Yang it is flashing in daylight. A bazillion hand-cut mosaic mirror pieces fit tight, cheek by jowl, in groutless balanced asymmetry. Pinks and greens divide the piece, and silver mirror bits scatter across the whole. The seeds (dots) are beautiful glass rounds, one lavender pink, one green. When light strikes the yin yang just so, the dots glow. The graceful S curve is faced with red and yellow colored glass, and diffuses light like fire.
Fine beveled mirrors flank each seed and flash rainbows when light struck. Utterly beautiful and uplifting.

The heart of the taijitu is steel, so you can hang it inside or outside. It will catch wind like a sail and turn on a mega ball-bearing swivel. Just make sure it won't bump into something in a stiff wind.
When hanging remember this: light + movement = maximum sparkle. Keep nightlight in mind, too. Lamp light, headlights, strong moonlight will make it flash like paparazzi.
It hangs from a 9" stainless steel squiggly hook crafted by an artisan on a machine her grandfather invented. How cool is that!
